The police said there was “no discernible trend suggesting a degradation of (the) law-and-order situation”.

The police said they responded to a call for assistance at the unit in Everitt Road at about 9.30pm and found the woman lying motionless.

SINGAPORE – A 40-year-old man is being investigated for the alleged murder of a 43-year-old woman in a Joo Chiat residential unit on Sept 15.

The police said they responded to a call for assistance at the unit in Everitt Road at about 9.30pm and found the woman lying motionless at the location.

She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man, who was known to the woman, had left Singapore before the call for assistance.

The Straits Times understands the unit is at a residential property called Lotus at Joo Chiat.

Police investigations are ongoing.
