SINGAPORE – The police are investigating an accident involving a lorry which had skidded on Nutmeg Road in the Orchard Road area.
The police said they were alerted to the accident, which left a lorry at the bottom of a slope near the junction of Jalan Jintan and Nutmeg Road, at 4.35pm on Nov 17.
That junction faces the rear of Scotts Square.
The police added that the 44-year-old lorry driver had minor injuries, but declined to be taken to hospital.
In a video circulating on TikTok, a tow truck can be seen attempting to pull the lorry up the steep slope and back onto the road. People can be seen watching the scene unfold from the second storey of a nearby building.
The words “ST Healthcare” can be seen on the side of the lorry.
ST Healthcare is a subsidiary of ST Logistics, a local company that provides supply chain solutions.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, ST Logistics confirmed that the lorry belonged to ST Healthcare and has been recovered.
It said: “Our team is currently reviewing the incident to establish the facts, including the cause and sequence of events.”
The company added that safety remains a priority and that it will reinforce the necessary preventive measures once the facts are verified.
