Former bartender leaves rebellious past behind and makes good as a technopreneur

Tired of the long hours working behind a bar, Mr Sam Weng Cham furthered his studies in the pursuit of another career. Now, he is the co-founder of Transcend Solutions, an IT firm that rings up more than $6 million in sales.

It was early evening and all was quiet at The Blue Cow, a now-defunct pub along River Valley Road.

It was downtime for bartender Sam Weng Cham; the thirsty hordes would not troop in for their tipple until a few hours later.
