SINGAPORE - A new set of stamps will go on sale on Wednesday (Sept 21) featuring birds of prey native to Singapore.
Singapore Post's four-stamp set includes a 70-cent stamp with Singapore's largest native raptor, the white-bellied sea eagle; a 90-cent stamp with the Brahminy kite; and a $1.30 stamp showing a perched black-winged kite.
The changeable hawk eagle, whose name refers to the two colours that the species can come in, is featured on the 1st Local denomination of the series.
SingPost is also releasing a pre-cancelled first day cover that comes affixed with the complete set of stamps. It will cost $4.15. A presentation pack is available for $5.20.
The stamp set, designed by illustrator Lim An-ling, will be sold at the Singapore Philatelic Museum and at all post offices, as well as online at www.stampdelight.com.
