Last historical cargo boats in Singapore River to be removed from Clarke Quay

SINGAPORE – They were once the lifeline of the Singapore River, bridging seafaring ships and godowns by transporting goods between them, but these cargo vessels will soon vanish from the area’s waters.

A spokesman for the historical precinct CQ @ Clarke Quay told The Straits Times last Friday that two such vessels – the last original ones in the Singapore River – will be permanently removed.
