Kids of convicted offenders more likely to break law

Study also finds risk higher for daughters than for sons, and when parents are jailed or are repeat offenders

A landmark study here has found that children whose parents have had criminal convictions are significantly more likely to get into trouble with the law themselves.
Specifically, children whose parents were convicted of their offences are about three times as likely to have been convicted of an offence themselves. This is compared with children whose parents do not have a criminal record.
