Kaplan Singapore is launching 10 scholarships for Institute of Technical Education (ITE) graduates, as well as O- and N-level students, to pursue diploma courses in any of the disciplines offered by the institution.
The move is part of the private education institute's efforts to encourage candidates with the right attitude to excel and go further in their careers.
"We appreciate that there are different routes to a successful career for people with different abilities - not only a degree. Bearing this in mind, we need to cater to students who have other strengths," said Kaplan Singapore president Leon Choong.
The Bright Future scholarships are open to ITE students with a Nitec or Higher Nitec qualification obtained in May last year, as well as students who will be graduating no later than in May next year. Candidates with O or N levels will be considered based on a set of broad-ranging criteria, including their passion for learning, commitment to personal development and involvement in co-curricular activities.
The 10 scholarships are worth a total of $60,000. Among the things it covers are school fees, textbooks and course materials.
The scholarships for ITE students were launched last week, while those for O- and N-level students will be launched before the year end.

Correction Note: An earlier version of this story stated that each scholarship is worth $60,000. It should be that the 10 scholarships are worth $60,000 altogether. We are sorry for the error.
