Richard Kuppusamy was born with a congenital disability which affected his ability to walk. But while others may have felt adversity, the accomplished architect saw empowerment.

"If you point at me and ask anyone: 'Do you think that guy can work for a construction company?', what do you think they'd say?" asks the 41-year-old who was born with spina bifida, a condition where the spine and spinal cord do not form and develop properly.
