SINGAPORE – The mass layoffs at big companies like Google and Facebook parent Meta have propelled scores of tech workers back into the job market, which has helped to ease the labour crunch.

The number of tech-sector workers in the market is the highest since 2001, said Ms Jaya Dass, ​managing director of Asia-Pacific permanent recruitment at hiring firm Randstad.
