Several inventions stole the spotlight at this year's Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award Presentation Ceremony held last Saturday at the Singapore Science Centre. Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central students Marcus Chan Yong Jie (second from right) and Andy Wong Chong Hao (far right), both 17, won the only silver award in the student category. Their device saves water during the initial 30 seconds to one minute needed for water to be heated in the shower by channelling it to a temporary storage compartment. Acting Minister for Education (Schools) Ng Chee Meng, seen here taking a photo of the silver award winners, was the guest of honour at the event.
