SINGAPORE - Swedish furniture retailer Ikea issued a recall on Thursday for toy Lattjo drumsticks and tongue drums due to a choking hazard.

Ikea said that while no incidents have been reported, it is taking precautionary measures following six reports from store workers that the rubber ball of the drumsticks can come off or be unscrewed.

Customers who have bought the products are advised to take them away from children and take them back to any Ikea store for a full refund. Proof of purchase is not required.

The Lattjo drumsticks and tongue drum were sold in Ikea Singapore since Nov 1 last year (2015), and have since been removed from shelves.

Ms Cindy Andersen, business area manager for children's products at Ikea, said that the items had met relevant toy safety standards and that they were being withdrawn as a precaution.
