World Focus: How Singapore tackles plastic use

While Singapore has no plans in the near future to ban single-use plastic bags or impose levies on its use, government agencies are taking several steps to better manage plastic and packaging waste.

Earlier this year, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources announced that a regulated e-waste management system, which will be based on the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) concept, will be implemented by 2021.
