The Ministry of Manpower formulates and implements policies covering the local and foreign workforce in Singapore. Singapore's main labour law is the Employment Act, while foreigners working in Singapore are covered under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

An update to the Employment Act was proposed last year and implemented this year, which would cover more workers and also address the rise of freelancers in the gig economy.
