HDB resale transactions fall by 5.5% in Q3 as resale prices remain unchanged: HDB

SINGAPORE - Resale transactions for public housing decreased by 5.5 per cent from 5,838 in the previous quarter to 5,514 in the third quarter, according to a HDB press release on Friday (Oct 28).

The Resale Price Index (RPI) remained unchanged from the previous quarter, at 134.7.

The median resale prices for houses in the various towns were also released.

The number of applications approved for subletting of HDB flats decreased by 8.8 per cent, from 11,824 cases in the previous quarter to 10,789 cases in the third quarter. As of Sept 30, 52,394 HDB flats were sublet, which was an increase of 0.4 per cent over the previous quarter (52,171 units).

HDB also announced that it will offer about 5,090 new flats in Bedok, Bidadari, Kallang/Whampoa and Punggol in a Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise in November.

About 5,000 balance flats will also be offered in a concurrent Sale of Balance Flats exercise, it added.
