The high occupancy rates come despite the increase in room rates, with some hotels charging between 40 and 80 per cent more during the race period.

SINGAPORE - Hotels in the Marina Bay circuit area look set to be fully booked or close to full capacity this weekend as the Republic gears up for this year's F1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix despite the worsening haze.
Trackside hotel JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach is fully booked, while other nearby hotels including Fairmont Singapore, Swissotel The Stamford and Pan Pacific Singapore report being 90 per cent occupied for the weekend.
