Man held for suspected impersonation of cop

A 36-year-old man was arrested on Monday for suspected involvement in a scam in which a person impersonated a police officer.

On Tuesday, a 37-year-old woman had received a call from the suspect, who claimed he was a police officer. She was told to provide personal details and particulars for "investigation purposes". About $32,000 was transferred from her bank account to the suspect's.


SingPost launches locker rental service

After three years of being available only to some retailers, Singapore Post lockers are now available to everyone. SingPost yesterday launched a service called Rent-a-Pop to allow small online shops or users of apps to sell their items without meeting buyers, or depending on a courier. Small lockers cost $4.90, medium ones $5.90, and large ones $7.90 for two days.


Man under probe for false robbery report

A 33-year-old man is being investigated for lodging a false report. Police said yesterday that the man had lodged the report at Serangoon Neighbourhood Police Centre on Monday claiming he was attacked by two unknown men, who also robbed him of his wallet containing $400.
