Facebook appeal for witnesses to hit-and-run

The family of a motorcylist killed by a hit-and-run driver while returning to Johor Baru has launched a Facebook appeal for witnesses to the crash in Woodlands Avenue 5 at about 2.30am last Wednesday.

It has been shared more than 20,000 times.

Malaysian renovation worker Yeow Wei Loon, 32, was the sole breadwinner. He left behind his wife, a son, eight, and two daughters aged three and one.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information can call 1800-547-1818.

5 months' jail for man who molested 2 women

He molested a 21-year-old woman on a bus last year. While out on police bail, he did it again, to a teen on a bus.

Yesterday, Ng Tian Yuan, 32, who is unemployed, was sentenced to five months' jail.

The court noted that Ng was a repeat offender - who had served 12 weeks' jail for the same offence in 2010 - and stressed the need for women to be able to travel without fear of being molested.

He could have been jailed up to two years, fined or caned, or given a mix of such penalties.
