60 per cent of SG50 funpacks collected
Six in 10 SG50 funpacks have already been collected, a month after grassroots leaders and volunteers started distributing the goodie bags.
The People's Association (PA) said the remaining funpacks will be given out at grassroots National Day celebrations during the Golden Jubilee weekend, which starts tomorrow.
PA added that those who misplaced their postcard and notification letter can still redeem their funpacks using the NRIC. Uncollected funpacks will be taken to homes and orphanages as part of PA's community outreach programmes and will also be distributed at community events.
Woman jailed for offering bribe
A Chinese national was sentenced to three weeks' jail yesterday for attempting to bribe a Singapore Customs Officer. On May 31, Zhu Xiaolu, 30, arrived at
Changi Airport with commercial goods worth US$10,210 (S$14,000) without a permit. She then offered Higher Customs Officer Siow Teck Meng US$200 as a bribe for him to release the goods.
The officer rejected it and reported the matter to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.
6 arrested for alleged sale of fake goods
Six people were arrested on Tuesday for their suspected involvement in the sale of counterfeit computer parts and mobile phone accessories worth an estimated $2.6 million.
The four men and two women, aged between 19 and 33, were arrested after police officers conducted simultaneous raids at Sim Lim Square and Jurong East.
About 25,200 trademark-infringing computer parts were seized, such as laptop power adapters, batteries, hard drives, DVD-ROMs, LCD screens and computer software. Officers also seized mobile phone accessories such as phone casings and power banks.
