• Gedung Kuning was built to be the residence for the bendahara or chief minister of the Malay Royal Court in the 1850s.
• In 1912, Haji Yusoff Haji Mohamed Noor, a respected belt merchant of Javanese descent and a known pioneer of the Malay community, purchased the mansion.
