Proposals wanted on how to shape successful ageing in Singapore

SINGAPORE - The Health Ministry is offering cash prizes of up to $300 for ideas on how to age successfully.

On Friday, it launched two challenges on the eCitizen Ideas! website, set up last year as a centralised portal for government crowdsourcing projects.

The first calls for suggestions on how to promote health education among seniors, and what sort of information they need.

The other calls for ideas on how to provide opportunities for senior learning and volunteering.

The two challenges follow nearly 50 focus group discussions with more than 1,300 people on their aspirations for successful ageing here.

For each challenge, participants must submit their ideas in no more than 800 words at ideas.ecitizen.gov.sg

Proposals will be chosen based on the possibility for implementation, relevance and creativity.

Shortlisted entries will be put up for a public vote on the website.

The closing date for submissions is May 31.
