With air quality moving into unhealthy levels for the first time in three years yesterday, people huddled in restaurants in air-conditioned malls, while pharmacies reported brisk sales of surgical masks.
The Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) stood between 92 and 110 at 8pm yesterday, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA). Readings from 101 to 200 are considered unhealthy.
