SINGAPORE - The Marine Parade polyclinic will be expanded from one to two storeys, increasing its capacity and adding more registration counters, service rooms and a larger laboratory.

It will also provide new radiology and medication pick-up services and feature lifts, handrails, low counters and ramps for wheelchair access.

Renovations will commence from May 18 and are expected to be completed by February 2016, SingHealth Polyclinics announced on Monday.

The 38-year-old polyclinic was last renovated in 2008.

During the renovation period, Marine Parade polyclinic will operate at Geylang polyclinic at 21 Geylang East Central.

Patients are advised to visit general practitioners near their homes or Geylang polyclinic if they have an existing appointment.

A free two-way shuttle bus service will run between Marine Parade polyclinic and Geylang polyclinic with two sheltered pick-up points: Blk 19 Marine Terrace and Blk 67 Marine Drive.

The pick-ups will take place on weekdays from 7am to 3pm (except for a break between 10.30am and 1.30pm) at Marine Terrace and from 7.10am to 3.10pm (except for a break between 10.40am and 1.40pm) at Marina Drive, at half-hour intervals.

On Saturdays the service will run from 7am to 9.30am and 7.10am to 9.40am respectively.

Wheelchair-accessible transport is available at the following times: 8.15am, 9.30am, 2.15am at Marine Terrace and 8.30am, 9.45am and 2.30pm at Marina Drive on weekdays; 8.15am and 9.30am at Marine Terrace and 8.30am and 9.45am at Marina Drive on Saturdays.
