Increase in number of cases

The Child Guidance Clinics at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) has seen more cases of children diagnosed with selective mutism.

In 2013, it saw 13 new cases of selective mutism. The number went up to 28 in both 2015 and 2016, before falling to 24 last year.
