Years ago, when I was expecting my first child, I came across a Hallmark card for Mother's Day while browsing at the bookstore. "The day you become a mother is the day you start watching your heart walk around your body," it cooed.
Well, I'm usually not one for sentimental quotes and I did not buy the card, but somehow this phrase found its way into the recesses of my memory.
