SINGAPORE - Avoid visiting hospitals for non-emergencies, as more than 600 clinics will be in operation during the Jubilee weekend, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Monday (Aug 3).

MOH encouraged the public who feel unwell during the long weekend from Aug 7 to 10 to visit their general practitioner or a 24-hour clinic for conditions that are not life-threatening or serious emergencies.

Members of the public are advised to seek medical treatment at hospitals' Accident & Emergency departments only for "serious emergencies, such as chest pain, breathlessness, and uncontrollable bleeding", said MOH in its advisory.

The list of clinics which are open can be found at various websites:

- MOH's webpage;

- MOH's directory of licensed healthcare institutions;

- Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) webpage;

- and the MOH iHealthSg mobile application, which can be downloaded from iTunes or the Google Play store.

MOH also reminded the public to eat in moderation and continue to exercise regularly to stay healthy over the holiday period.
