SINGAPORE - Motorists planning to head to the Downtown East area on May 1 should avoid Pasir Ris Drive 3 and plan alternative routes owing to lane closures along the road.
In a media statement on April 30, the police said that a lane on each side of the road will be closed as part of traffic arrangements for an event on May 1. They did not provide further information about the event.
The following lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic from 10pm on April 30 to 7pm on May 1:
Left lane of the carriageway of Pasir Ris Drive 3, towards New Loyang Link
Right lane of the carriageway of Pasir Ris Drive 3, towards Pasir Ris Drive 12
During the period of lane closures, road access will be granted only to authorised vehicles, as well as police and emergency vehicles, said the police.
Police and auxiliary police officers will be deployed along the affected lanes to assist and direct motorists.
Members of the public are encouraged to take public transport to the venue, the police added. Those who decide to drive are advised to take an alternative route via Pasir Ris Close from Pasir Ris Drive 6.
Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced, and vehicles found parked illegally and/or causing obstruction will be towed.
