Generation Grit: Your child is as good as retarded, single mum of disabled twins told

Ms Rozanah Roza is a single mother of three, two of whom are twins with microcephaly and lissencephaly. They cannot walk, talk or see. She said that having them taught her patience, perseverance and humility.

Ms Rozanah Roza struggled with depression for more than five years as the mother of three children - two with severe disabilities. Today, back on her feet, she wants to give back to society. Her story is part of a series on millennials who overcome the odds.

SINGAPORE - Up to age 24, Ms Rozanah Roza lived a charmed life.

But in June 2012, days before her 25th birthday, scans revealed that the twins she was pregnant with had serious brain defects that were incurable.
