Shalom Lim, 24, lives with a debilitating disease that will eventually claim his life. Yet, he never gave up on his quest to excel in his studies and he hopes to help others as a counsellor. This is the latest in the series on millennials who persevere despite tremendous odds.

Mr Shalom Lim suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a degenerative muscular disease. The 24-year-old has published a book of artworks to raise funds for others like him and is currently pursuing a degree.
