SINGAPORE - Telcos Singtel, StarHub and M1 have all rolled out mobile data promotions to celebrate Singapore's 51st birthday.

Singtel's postpaid mobile customers can enjoy free data usage on National Day (Aug 9) from 12.01am to 11.59pm, the telco announced last week.

M1's customers will also get free local calls, free SMS and MMS messages, as well as unlimited mobile data on the day.

Meanwhile, StarHub's postpaid mobile customers will receive an additional 1GB of free data for the month of August.

In a statement on Tuesday (July 12) morning, a StarHub spokesman said the 1GB of data will be utilised first, followed by customers' existing data bundles.

This will be reflected in customers' September bills.

As is their usual practice on special occasions, both Singtel and StarHub will also offer free previews for their television customers.

Over 140 channels will be available on Singtel TV for free from 6am on Aug 5 to 11.59am on Aug 9.

These include popular channels such as the Disney Channel, National Geographic Channel HD, Fox Movie Premium HD and KBS World HD.

Over the same period, everyone in Singapore can also get access to TV programmes via the free Singtel TV GO app. App users are not required to have a Singtel subscription to get the content.

For StarHub, its week-long free preview of over 100 channels for subscribers will start from noon on Aug 5 and end on noon on Aug 11.
