SINGAPORE - The historic Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will again open its doors to the public on Christmas this Friday (Dec 25).

Members of the public can visit the station, which was gazetted as a national monument in April 2011, between 9am and 6pm.

They are also encouraged to take photos and sketch their impressions of the building and train platforms, said the Singapore Land Authority in a press release. It said drawings can be deposited at the ticketing counter and may be displayed at future openings.

The station is open to the public on public holidays to allow more people to enjoy the state property. Its last opening was last month during Deepavali (Nov 10).

In October, the Land Transport Authority revealed that parts of the railway station's platforms will be making way for the construction of the new underground Cantonment station on the Circle Line.
