SINGAPORE – A fire broke out in a warehouse in Tuas on the morning of May 22.

No injuries were reported.

In a Facebook post, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at 4 Tuas Avenue 18 at about 10am.

The fire involved waste materials contained in an area measuring about 5m by 5m within a warehouse, it said.

The incident marks the second industrial fire in May, following

one on May 9 in Tampines

Earlier in April, a fire broke out

at a warehouse in Pioneer

.

In its

annual statistics report released on Feb 13

, SCDF said that the total number of fires rose from 1,954 in 2023 to 1,990 in 2024. This is due to more fires at commercial premises, as well as at social and communal premises, which include community centres and religious sites.
