SINGAPORE - A fire has broken out at a flat in Block 206 Tampines Street 21, according to a Straits Times reader.

Melvin Vivas, a photographer, posted photos of fire engines and the block of flats on his Facebook page on Monday morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire on the fourth floor at 9.15am. The occupants had self-evacuated, and there are no injuries.

The fire "involving the contents of a kitchen" was extinguished by SCDF with one compressed air foam backpack.

The cause of the fire is till under investigation, SCDF said.
