Retired educator Jensrani Thangavel, 59, pours her passion and experience from three decades of teaching into her volunteer work for the Book Rangers Club for young readers of Tamil, helping to develop its curriculum and programme. The group is one of five mother tongue reading clubs in Singapore and the National Library Board plans to double their number this year to familiarise a younger generation with books in Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
