The night I became a durian hunter

It was almost pitch black when we set off into the forests of Tengah - in the western part of Singapore - at 1.30am on Thursday morning. Early morning mists shrouded the area as my colleague and I joined a local durian-picking group for a recce tour around the neighbourhood to suss out if the durians there are ripe and ready for harvest.
We were there at that time as most durians are said to fall from trees at night.
