Move sends strong signal, but true test lies in curbing global trade

It was World Elephant Day yesterday, and Singapore celebrated with a strong conservation message: The domestic trade in elephant ivory will be banned from Sept 1, 2021.

The ban is an important step in signalling Singapore's zero tolerance for the illegal wildlife trade.
