SINGAPORE - The Singapore Red Cross will be distributing masks to its beneficiaries and members of the public to help them battle the haze.
According to a statement on Monday (Sept 28), the Red Cross will give out 2,000 N95 masks over the next two weeks to its Community FirstAid, FoodAid, TransportAid and Community-Led Action for ResiliencE programme to protect people from the harmful effects of the recent air pollution from Indonesian fires.
Members of the public can also receive masks at Red Cross headquarters near Dhoby Ghaut MRT station on Tuesday. Each person will be given two masks, while stocks last.
Said Red Cross chief Benjamin William: "In addition to taking active steps to ensure the well-being of our beneficiaries, this contribution is our small way of helping to safeguard the community from the effects of the haze. We encourage everyone to be vigilant of their own health."
