A potentially toxic mineral has been washing up on the islands off Singapore's southern coast, causing considerable concern for the authorities and visitors.

Since last month, debris containing asbestos has been found at the Sisters' Islands Marine Park, Pulau Hantu, St John's Island and Kusu Island - islands popular with day trippers.
