SINGAPORE - A bus operator engaged by Singapore Chinese Girls' School (SCGS) to take its students to and from school has enraged parents by quoting a monthly fee of as much as $550. The rate is almost double that of the previous bus contractor.

With less than a week to the start of the new school year, some parents told The Straits Times on Friday (Dec 28) that they are considering other options like hiring a private car or bus.
