They may have lived abroad, but young Singaporeans returning home have not been deterred from taking mother tongue as a subject.
In response to queries from The Sunday Times, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said that in the past five years, about 90 per cent of returning Singaporean students go on to study mother tongue language (MTL) at the standard level.
