In 2013, Ms Herta Monica Montesino Cucos was looking for an opportunity to grow professionally and expand her horizons when she came across Amity.

She was so impressed with the offerings that she enrolled in not one but two postgraduate courses - a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2014 and a Master of Laws in International Business Law (LLM) in 2016 - through Amity, a part of Amity Education Group.

Ms Montesino Cucos says: "An MBA programme paves the way to interact with future business managers and executives. When the course is completed, these people could be ideal business partners."

Networking aside, it also helped her gain new skills. "The LLM has developed my analytical, evaluative and arbitration skills, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the tensions that exist in the contemporary domestic and international legal framework," says the Romanian, who moved to Singapore 11 years ago.

Ms Montesino Cucos, who is in her 30s, believes holding double postgraduate degrees help her stand out in the marketplace. She found her current job as a corporate development manager in the services sector after attaining her MBA.

"In today's highly competitive international business world, seeing multiple perspectives is a competitive advantage. Having these two degrees combined enhanced my credentials and helped me to position myself at a new level. It also sharpens my problem-solving skills, preparing me for greater responsibilities as I advance in my career," she says.
