E-bike rider arrested for rash act causing hurt after accident with pedestrian in Toa Payoh

SINGAPORE - A 55-year-old man was arrested for a rash act causing hurt after an accident in Toa Payoh involving his power-assisted bicycle and a pedestrian.

In a media reply, the police said that they were alerted on Aug 8 at about 9pm to an accident on a pavement in Lorong 3 Toa Payoh.

The pedestrian, a 61-year-old woman, and the man were conscious when taken to the hospital.

A video of the scene sent to ST shows uniformed officers escorting a man to a grass patch, where he then lies down. Nearby, a woman can be seen being attended to by two others.

Police investigations are ongoing.
