SINGAPORE - There were delays on the Circle Line at certain stations due to a track fault on Monday (Sept 5) night.

SMRT estimated that there would be 10 minutes additional travelling time from Paya Lebar to MacPherson stations in the direction of HarbourFront, in an alert on Twitter at about 8.30pm.

The delay was shortened to five minutes at around 9pm.

Train services were back to normal, SMRT said at about 9.15pm.

There were frequent delays on the Circle Line last week due to a signalling glitch, but the line had been operating normally since Friday evening.

SMRT's engineers suspected a communications interference from the start of the anomaly, but could not locate its source.
