SINGAPORE – Sports lovers who would like to trade in their Decathlon weights, scooters, skateboards and winter apparel can now do so under its expanded buy-back programme at its Circular Bazaar.

The third iteration of this event will take place at Decathlon Singapore Lab in Kallang from 10am to 8pm on Oct 25 and 26.

Visitors can get up to $800 in Decathlon vouchers by selling their pre-loved sports gear. Selected bicycle models will also be eligible for a monetary refund.

Decathlon told The Straits Times that “with this initiative, we aim to move towards a zero-waste policy”. The circular bazaars are a way to provide “sustainable alternatives for customers through repairing, refurbishing and reusing sports products”.

“We aim to give every sports product a sustainable future,” it added.

After buying back a product, Decathlon’s technicians inspect, repair and refurbish it. Decathlon said this reduces waste and gives every sports product a sustainable future by extending its lifespan.

The refurbished items are then sold at discounted prices as certified refurbished “Second Life” products. The items are available at its six Experience stores, online and on its dedicated page on Carousell.

Decathlon bought about 1,000 bicycles, which it said was equivalent to over 10 tonnes of product, during its first two bazaars, which were held in 2024 and March 2025.

It said: “We see a large number of children’s bicycles as children outgrow these very quickly.

“The buy-back programme meets a need as Singaporeans have difficulty storing and reselling items they have grown out of.”

It added that since 2024, it has collected and saved over 65,000 sports products.

The bazaar will also feature bicycle maintenance services for $40 and sports stations where visitors can try new sports like baseball or archery.

Visitors can also shop from a range of refurbished, pre-loved sports equipment available at discounts of up to 80 per cent.

The first iteration in 2024 attracted 25,000 people. The March event attracted 22,000 people.

Decathlon expects an attendance of 20,000 people this weekend.
