Woman charged over possession of Kpods for sale

From Sept 1, those convicted of selling Kpods, or etomidate-laced vapes, can be fined up to $10,000, jailed for up to six months, or both.

SINGAPORE – A woman was hauled to court on Sept 25 for allegedly having Kpods and e-vaporisers for sale to three individuals on separate occasions.
Eng Xiao Bei, 30, is accused of having two Kpods, or etomidate-laced vapes, for sale to a person identified as Dandre for $124 on July 19 at an HDB flat in Punggol, court documents stated.
On Aug 5, Eng, who faces five charges, allegedly had for sale one Kpod to another person, known as Jonas, for $64 at the same location.
In addition, she is accused of having one Kpod and one e-vaporiser for sale to another person, Jerel, for $64 and $58 respectively on June 11.
In a statement, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said that Eng was caught during an enforcement operation at her residence in Punggol Field on Sept 23.
“During the search of Eng’s unit, HSA officers uncovered and seized 58 e-vaporisers and related components, and eight e-vaporiser pods suspected to contain etomidate.
“Eng was arrested the same day to assist with investigations into the alleged possession of e-vaporisers and pods, and alleged supply of e-vaporisers and etomidate pods between June and August 2025,” the authority said, adding that the seized pods are being tested for etomidate.

On Sept 8, Derek Khor Boon Chun, 40, became the first person to be charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act
He was allegedly found with 43 Kpods when he was arrested at a carpark in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 on Sept 6.
For possession of e-vaporisers, an offender can be fined up to $2,000.
