SINGAPORE – A woman is said to have had a vape pod containing etomidate while she was at an Excelsior Shopping Centre nightspot on two separate occasions.

On Nov 6, Tan Xin Yi, 20, was charged with two counts of being in possession of the substance.

Court documents stated that the Singaporean also allegedly had an etomidate-laced vape pod while she was at Club Poseidon shortly before 1am on Aug 16.

She is accused of committing a similar offence at the Coleman Street nightspot on Sept 28.

Tan’s pre-trial conference will take place on Dec 3.

When vaped, etomidate enters the lungs directly and may trigger spasms, breathing difficulties, seizures, and even psychosis.

To report vaping-related offences, call the Health Sciences Authority hotline on 6684-2036 or 6684-2037 from 9am to 9pm daily, including public holidays.
