Two men arrested for allegedly breaking into Bedok clinic

SINGAPORE - Two men were arrested Sunday (July 8) for allegedly breaking into a clinic in Bedok.

In a statement on Sunday night, the police said they received a report at 5.26am that a clinic at Bedok North Street 3 had been broken into.

Cash and medications stored in the clinic were found to be missing.

At about 5.40am, three officers from Bedok Police Division managed to arrest one of the men near the clinic.

The second man was subsequently arrested along Yishun Ring Road the same day, at around 4pm.

The two men, aged 30 and 32, will be charged with theft by night with common intention.

If convicted, they face a fine and a jail term of between two and 14 years.

In a statement, the police advised the public to adopt crime prevention measures such as securing doors and windows with grilles and padlocks, and installing burglar alarms.
