SINGAPORE - Two men are expected to be charged on Jan 22 after they allegedly attacked another man with a weapon in Geylang.

Preliminary investigations showed that the two suspects, aged 48 and 61, had allegedly used a metal stick to strike a 26-year-old man after a dispute, the police said in a statement on Jan 21.

The police added they received a call for assistance near Geylang Lorong 24 at about 7.35am on Jan 20.

The injured victim was conscious when taken to the hospital, with the metal stick found at the scene and seized as a case exhibit.

The two suspects were identified and arrested within nine hours, the police said.

If found guilty, they can be jailed for up to seven years, fined or caned.
