One has been convicted, while the others will return to court for further mentions.

Mohammed Firdaus Osman, 31, faces nine charges after he allegedly collided with three vehicles on the Kranji Expressway on Jan 2.

Court documents showed he had collided with a car after making a lane change, and continued to drive without stopping, colliding into another car. He then continued to move forward, hitting another vehicle, a van.

Firdaus did not enter a plea of guilt on May 21 but asked for more time to apply for legal aid under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme. His case will be heard again on June 18.

Another motorist, Huang Suhua, 55, is facing four charges after she allegedly ran a red light at a traffic signal along Sims Avenue on Nov 19, 2024, and collided into a motorcyclist, who sustained serious injuries.

Huang faces charges for reckless or dangerous driving, failing to stop after the accident, failing to render help to the injured motorcyclists, and for moving her car from the scene. Her case will be heard again on June 18.

Four other motorists – Ong Chin Huat, 38, Chinniah Mohan, 48, Phua Ah Leh, 79, and Mohamed Nazri Mohd Alias, 39 – were also charged on May 21.

Ong faces three charges after he allegedly collided with a motorcycle along Airport Road on Dec 9, 2024. He is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout while changing lanes, and failing to stop or render assistance to the injured motorcyclist after the accident. Ong’s case will be heard again on June 18.

Chinniah faces three charges as he is accused of failing to maintain control of his car, mounting a curb and damaging a lamp post while driving his car along Serangoon Road on Sep 7, 2024.

He is also accused of abandoning his car after the accident and leaving the scene. His case will be mentioned again on June 4.

Phua faces three charges after he collided with a motorcycle on Sembawang Road on Aug 6, 2024. He had allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout.

He is also charged for failing to stop and render assistance to the motorcyclist after causing the accident. Phua’s case will be mentioned again on July 2.

Meanwhile, Nazri was fined $3,000 and disqualified from holding all classes of driving licences for five years after he pleaded guilty to driving without due care, causing grievous hurt.

The court heard that on Sep 22, 2024, Nazri was driving his van along Upper Thomson Road when he collided into a cyclist who was ahead of him.

Two other charges for failing to stop and help the cyclist, and for moving his van after the accident, were taken into consideration for his sentencing.
