SINGAPORE - The police have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with the death of 31-year-old Cui Yajie.

Ms Cui was last seen at Fusionopolis Walk on July 11 at about 9.15pm. She had not reported for work since July 12, the police said in a statement on Wednesday (July 20).

The police said that they received a missing person report on July 14 and and issued a release appealing for information on the whereabouts of Ms Cui the following day.

As there were suspicious circumstances relating to the case, officers from Clementi Division worked closely with officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and Police Intelligence Department to conduct investigative probes and enquiries.

Their efforts paid off when they established the identity of the 48-year-old suspect who was arrested yesterday (July 20).

The suspect later led the police to Lim Chu Kang Lane 8 where the remains, believed to be that of the missing woman, were discovered.
