Notorious loan shark Chua Tiong Tiong, also known as Ah Long San, died of a suspected heart attack last Monday. He had infiltrated the police force in the 1990s by having a network of corrupt officers on his payroll.

It may sound like a scene straight out of a Hong Kong police drama, but these were the carrots dangled in front of crooked cops in Singapore who were on the payroll of one of the most notorious loan sharks - Mr Chua Tiong Tiong, also known as Ah Long San.
